Budget privacy
Last updated October 14, 2026. See what all my apps have in common.
Budget never connects to your bank. Everything in it is something you typed, and it stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.
What it stores
Your bills, their amounts and due dates, whether each one is paid and cleared, and the notes you add.
What it never does
- It never asks for a bank login.
- It never asks for or stores account or card numbers.
- It never links to your bank or any financial service.
Where it's kept
On your iPhone, iPad or Mac. If iCloud is turned on for Budget, your data also syncs between your devices through your own private iCloud storage. Bill names, amounts and notes are end-to-end encrypted, so not even Apple can read them. I have no access to it.
To stop syncing, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Show All under "Saved to iCloud", and turn off Budget.
Permissions
Budget can lock with Face ID or Touch ID if you turn that on. Apple handles the check on your device; the app only learns whether it succeeded and never sees your face or fingerprint.
Deleting your data
Delete the app from each device. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, choose Budget and delete its data. I keep no backup, so once it's gone it can't be recovered.
