Cattle Ledger privacy
Last updated October 14, 2026. See what all my apps have in common.
Cattle Ledger keeps your herd records on your devices and in your own iCloud. It never sends anything to me.
What it stores
Your animals and their details, costs such as feed, vet and processing, and the notes you add.
Where it's kept
On your iPhone, iPad or Mac. If iCloud is turned on for Cattle Ledger, your data also syncs between your devices through your own private iCloud storage. Apple encrypts it in transit and at rest. I have no access to it.
To stop syncing, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Show All under "Saved to iCloud", and turn off Cattle Ledger.
Permissions
Cattle Ledger doesn't ask for any special permissions.
About the old web page
The ledger started life as a public web page. That page has been retired. Ledger data now lives only in the app.
Deleting your data
Delete the app from each device. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, choose Cattle Ledger and delete its data. I keep no backup, so once it's gone it can't be recovered.
