Woodshed Log privacy

Woodshed Log keeps your practice history on your devices and in your own iCloud. It never sends anything to me.

What it stores

Practice sessions and their times, songs and the lists you put them in, chords you know and your chord-change scores, routines, goals, focus tags, and your gear list, including who you've loaned a guitar to.

Where it's kept

On your iPhone, iPad or Mac. If iCloud is turned on for Woodshed Log, your data also syncs between your devices through your own private iCloud storage. Apple encrypts it in transit and at rest. I have no access to it.

To stop syncing, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Show All under "Saved to iCloud", and turn off Woodshed Log.

Permissions

Woodshed Log doesn't ask for any special permissions today. The metronome plays sound but doesn't listen.

If a future version adds a tuner or recording, it will ask before using the microphone. Audio will be processed on your device and recordings will stay with your other data. This page will be updated before that version is released.

Other services

Songs can include an Apple Music link. Tapping one opens Apple Music; Woodshed Log doesn't send anything to Apple Music itself.

Deleting your data

Delete the app from each device. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, choose Woodshed Log and delete its data. I keep no backup, so once it's gone it can't be recovered.
