Cattle Ledger keeps your herd, the daily grain, the hay and every bill in one place, and splits shared costs fairly across the animals. Log today's feeding in one tap and see what each steer will cost per pound by butcher day.

What it does

Every day

  • Opens on today, with one button to log every animal's daily ration.
  • It won't log the same day twice, and shows everything logged today so double entries are easy to spot.
  • Coming up lists cull and cut-and-wrap dates with countdowns.

The herd

  • A card for each animal: ear tag, name, breed, purpose and cost to date.
  • Age, birth date, purchase price and daily ration.
  • Mark an animal sold or deceased instead of deleting its history.

Grain and hay

  • Grain to date, grain cost and the last 30 days for each steer.
  • Log grain for several steers at once; the last price is remembered.
  • Log hay by the bale and choose who ate it; the cost is split for you.

Butcher day

  • Projected cost per pound at cull, from an estimated or actual hanging weight.
  • The butcher fee moves from projected to actual when you mark it paid.

Costs

  • Nine categories, from feed and hay to vet, fencing and transport.
  • Costs can apply to the whole herd, just the beef animals, or one animal, and shared costs are split automatically.
  • Spending by category, and every cost in one list.

Sync and backup

  • Syncs through your own iCloud and works offline.
  • Backup export and import; importing only adds what's missing.
